Atonement (2007) --> A bizarre and tangled tale adapted from the Ian McEwan novel, Atonement reveals the devastating consequences of a sexual encounter between a young couple from different economic classes when the act is misinterpreted by the girl's younger sister. Keira Knightley and director Joe Wright team up for a second time but Atonement significantly outshines Pride and Prejudice (their last film). Part love story, part war film, Atonement is a WWII period piece worth the accolades it has received since its release.
